Grass Valley Invites you to the 2012 Summer Festival Season!The idea of the Grass Valley Thursday Night Marketplace was imagined and has been produced for SEVENTEEN years by a collective of people committed to Downtown Grass Valley & The Nevada County Agricultural Community who value the institution of a weekly market day that celebrates our community. Our goal has always been: to bring the community downtown amid our great shops and restaurants and to provide public access to quality produce and local products, arts crafts, and culture. And, to promote Downtown Grass Valley as well as our neighboring towns as regional and local destinations. This year, Downtown Grass Valley will presents a three month series of spectacular, healthy and entertaining events, beginning with the Sierra Festival of the Arts, and continuing through Labor Day Weekend.
The Mill Street Certified Farmers Market begins shortly after that on May 31 and continues all summer thru August 28. On July 5, The Thursday Night Marketplace and the Free Thursday Night Concert Series begin. The event takes place on Main and Auburn Streets.
This free event is presented by Grizzly Hill Productions exclusively for the Grass Valley Downtown Association. The theme of this event has always been: “To bring the community together in downtown Grass Valley.” Getting to know our neighbors and community is a reassuring pastime; an antidote for the raging headlines and the small screen version of life. Summer is here and so is another season of hometown hospitality when Nevada County comes together to celebrate the Sierra foothill lifestyle at popular events throughout the downtown.
